Chloe

Established in Paris in 1952 by Egyptian-born Gaby Aghion the luxurious house of Chloe has consistently displayed a carefree bohemian character. Refusing to compromise with the rigid custom of the 50s fashion, Aghion designed gentle to the body clothing from high-quality materials and named them "luxury pret-a-porter." Exceptional for their time, they were superbly designed apparel for sale right off the stand. In 1956, Aghion and her business partner, Jaques Lenior displayed their first series over breakfast at Cafe De Flore. They selected the title, "Chloe," for its comfortable, female charm.

In 1966, Karl Lagerfeld became the house's chief designer. Creating legendary style and releasing Chloe's homonymous and excellent fragrance, Karl Lagerfeld evolved into Chloe's public image in both the 60s and 90s and was followed by Martine Sitbon's unique contemporary perception throughout the late 80s. Jackie Onassis, Maria Callas, Brigitte Bardot, and Grace Kelly all went to Chloe's boutique seeking high-class daywear.

Chloe was bought by the swiss luxury product conglomerate Richemont Group in 1985 who strongly positioned Chloe on the worldwide marketplace where it has continued to be a powerful fashion force ever since. Miss McCartney became a member of the house as Creative Director in 1997, transferring her timeless tailoring with the heartbeat of the street and holding Chloe as the foremost name in fashion. In October, 2006, Paulo Melim Andersson was designated chief designer. Today, just as Grace Kelly and Maria Callas did in their time, young celebrities such as Kirsten Dunst, Natalie Portman, and Lou Doillon just adore the gentle classiness of the French design house. More than 60 years after Gaby Aghion dreamed of it, Chloe's idea of passionate, super feminine romantic style continues to live on.

Presented by the design house in 1975, Chloe Perfume is classed as a flowery fragrance. The feminine scent includes a mix of honeysuckle, jasmine and orange flowers. Additional fragrances comprise of Narcisse De Chloe Perfume for Women, released in 1992. Karl Lagerfeld presented Chloe Innocence perfume in 1996. Furthermore, Coty, Inc., which carried the Chloe license with its acquisition of Unilever's fragrance brands in 2005, had declared that they wanted to launch new Chloe women's fragrances in the near future.
