Simply the best of all, most complex, unique and beautiful.

I won't describe the notes and transitions here, because other reviewers have already done that. I just want to add that the perfume is very sharp and strong in the beginning. I did not like these initial moments...I think the trouble was the mixture of citrus and florals. After 20 minutes, the perfume becomes softer, more tamed.
I do like this soapy cologne. I just didn't like the harsh top.

Everything a great man's fragrance should be and nothing it shouldn't be. It is long lasting but not overpowering; decidedly masculine without being Neanderthal; elegant without being pretentious; classic without being dated. I find myself reaching for more than any other fragrance in my collection.

As with Joe_Frances, I smelled Dunhill for Men at the flagship store in NYC.
I agree with pretty much every other review of this fragrance - a bold, masculine, one of a kind fragrance that I wish I could find other places. Smells classy and grown-up. A man's man fragrance....I really need to purchase a bottle when I get the chance.
Sorry Caron, but this is the original men's cologne. And for an Eau de Cologne, Dunhill for Men lasts a while. Everything released by Dunhill since pales in comparison.

With apologies to others who have reviewed this (some of whom I quite admire), I'm surprised by this fragrance. While I was expecting the warmth of tonka, the brightness of lavender and lemon, and the maturity of flowers, all I get is loud, soapy and cheap.
I wanted to like this one, and given its reviews I thought it couldn't miss. Rather, I get a 1970's square dance-loud, fun in the moment, but you'd never want to admit membership.

a gentlemen's fragrance meant to be worn on special occasions only. very wild and untamed openining of florals that at times is harsh and 1934ish. it settles after a wild to a calm floral with greatsillage and longevity but is a bit dated for the under 35 crowd. i have had my bottle for 3 years and it's still half full.
