Yeah, I'll be the first to admit it smells strange in the beginning (like a can of tennis balls). I bought this one the day it came out - and didn't really care for it. The only reason it got into the rotation was that I was running low on my usual stuff...then it happened. I went to a birthday party for a friend and almost every female in the house told me how great I smelled. I was almost embarrased to tell them what it was. After that, it became part of the permanent wardrobe and the compliments never stop. It's grown on me - and my nose really seems to focus on the basil and freesia. I have had a few (men and women) tell me that it smells 'good...like a nice aftershave". I don't get that at all. It is what it is...and for me, it's a semi-signature scent that takes some getting used to. 6 years later, and I can honestly say I love the stuff.

This is from the lean years of Dunhill's modern offerings--and it isn't even that old. Safe, boring, synthetic, this "fresh" scent has a soapy basil and freesia note, no middle notes that I can detect and no evidence of the wood, leather and patchouli listed in the base notes. This is actually not bad, but it lacks the distinction of Dunhill's earlier fragrances and seems to me to be something that they slipped though just to fill their slate. Nice bottle and fresh-looking blue juice. I can't see using my whole bottle and certainly wouldn't buy it again, but I am loyal to Dunhill despite their offerings like this one.
