I've been using this beautiful fragrance since the early 90s and just love it! I prefer the EDP but the EDT is also quite worthy. It has suffered somewhat from the ban on oakmoss but it's still pretty long-lasting and rich. The scent progresses nicely from citrus top notes through the florals and woods of the mid and ends a musky skin scent hours later. It's a masterpiece and deserves wider acclaim.

Boucheron pour homme is a noble high-class sophisticated timeless fragrance for the classy respectable business man. I must be wearing this for over fifteen years now. It brings out a really wonderful citrus, flower and vetiver aroma. Fabulous for wearing in the cooler weather although I've even tested it for summer evenings and cool spring days (just light spraying)... its good but works best in the winter in the cold weather its regal fascinating and very long lasting.

A fascinating, multi-faceted masterwork, Boucheron PH is a puzzling beast, and watching the reactions it elicits and trying to deconstruct them is fascinating. Is it really a "formal" scent for "over-40" people? Why?

Like many great scents, BPH is timeless. Its concentrated citrus blast is heavily reminiscent of other 60s and 70s citrus screamers like Monsieur Balmain and YSL Pour Home -- both in its philosophy and its execution, although the Boucheron's soapy verbana-laced tones distinguish it from its citrusy brethren. Its aromatic and woody progression is simply wonderful - a cool, velvety journey that just smells great. And it is VERY powerful. The EDP that I own requires only a couple of split-second sprays to make a difference -- and one that lasts the whole day. In spirit (and uncompromising quality level), BPH is almost more Chanel than recent Chanel scents.

I strongly suspect that it is BPH's classic construction, and its elegant, stodgy and almost architectural packaging, that cause most people to think of this as an older person's scent for formal occasions. But you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you pass this one by for those reasons. That said -- if you do like relentlessly modern fruity and gourmandy scents, move along, as this one is the antithesis of that category.

To me, bears a striking resembelence to AdP Colonia Assoluta. The prominent difference appears to be one of emphasis: AdP is more roundly citrus, whereas Boucheron PH is woodier(?). I dont get any powder on me, but I do see the point made above about overdoing it and ruining the composition. That said, it is not easy to do. I dont get old man off of this at all, so perhaps some have experienced a note in your youth you equate with the scents of your father.

On me, 3 squirts lasts a standard work day. SIllage is between Opium PH and Mugler Cologne, so people will notice but you wont be killing nearby wildlife. Modestly bracing, this is not boring but is also largely inoffensive unless, of course, you overapply. Tastefully masculine, no perception that youre trying to prove something with your scent. The scent is solid or deep, whatever term you prefer: no doubts it is there.

This is pure class and refinement, a very sophisticated aromatic chypre with a flowery heart. While the final outcome is smooth and soapy, the citrusy-green accord of top notes is so pronounced to anchor undisputably the scent to the most conservative olfactory tradition. This is a formal business distinguished fragrance, a sort of soapy lemonade with the texture of woods and the sophistication of flowers. Many have written about the wonderful, herbal, hesperidic initial accord. It's marvellous and long lasting, teleporting us in a left over glorious age full of optimism and planning quality. It combines all the main citruses (bergamot, lemon, orange, mandarine) together with basil and verbena. The outcome is a spectacular mentholated lemon-orance juice. In the middle fase the citrusy initial blast fades, without disappearing in its effects, in a bouquet of flowers some of which are rose and jasmine whose sophistication is enhanced by the mild, woody, flowery smell of ylang-ylang. The base is very complex cause is woody, incensey, ambery, musky and rooty with the tobacco undertone of tonka bean. The outcome, while traditional, is full of nuances combining the freshness of citruses with the refinement of flowers and the warmth of a rich woody-creamy base. A giant.
