Following his period in Paris, instead of going back to Tokyo, Carlos relocated to New York City where he became a member of a gilding studio in Brooklyn. Within the group of craftsman Carlos discovered in Brooklyn, he connected with a sculptor who worked to include avant-garde fragrances within his sculptures. They started to work jointly. When the sculptor made the decision to sell a few of his perfumes on his internet site, Carlos took control of the business part of their effort. This coverage to aromas and their venture on developing fragrances influenced Carlos to roll-out his own scents.
In 2011, Carlos presented L’Anonyme ou OP-1475-A, the first perfume by A Lab on Fire. As opposed to the avant-garde fragrances the sculptor had created, Carlos preferred a fragrance that was straightforward yet sophisticated. He looked to perfumer Olivier Polge to develop a contemporary, minimal and interesting perfume, growing his team work character.
Once creating two more scents to his selections by the summer of 2012, What We Do In Paris Is Secret and Sweet Dreams 2003, with the help of perfumers Dominique Ropion and Thierry Wasser respectively, Carlos’s wandering nature just as before took over. It was the season to discover the isolation and dreary, unapproachable scenery which have influenced artists like Donald Judd, whose work is very important to Carlos’s own fundamental nature of reality. It felt natural for Carlos to locate a new area to reside in found in a little town in the extensive deserts of West Texas.
A Lab on Fire follows Carlos and carries on its quest to provide modern, innovative and sophisticated perfumes each formulated by the best perfumers in the world.
