Sean John Designer History:
Famous American rapper, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur Sean John "Diddy" Combs, also known by his stage names Puff Daddy, Diddy, and P. Diddy, born November 4, 1969 in Harlem introduced the brand Sean John in 1998. Just north of the Bronx Combs grew up in Mount Vernon. He started his diverse career as an assistant talent director at NYC's Uptown Records. In 1993 he formed Bad Boys Entertainment, that before long was creating for a number of multi-platinum artists, such as Mary J. Blidge, TLC, Usher and Combs himself. Combs continuous success as an artist and producer comes with the equally and one could say more successful career in the fashion style universe. Ever since the first appearance of his urban-culture influenced men’s sportswear range in the spring of 1999, Combs has been recognized with five nominations from the CFDA (Counsel of Fashion Designers of America) for excellence in design, and was granted the CFDA Perry Ellis Award for Best Menswear Designer in 2004. Sean John’s apparel boutique was the first African American business to open on New York City's Fifth Avenue.

Combs presently operates Sean John with CEO Bob Wichser, who was unearthed for the position by Combs in 2005. With revenues of $500-million yearly in US retail sales, the brand has widened to consist of Sean John, Bad Boy Sportswear, Sean John Tailored, and Sean John accessories, with a number of new collections en route. Designer Jenny La Fata has been appointed to work on Sean John’s newly re-launched women’s clothing series with G-III Apparel Group.

Sean John Fragrance History:
The Sean John brand has discovered its most predominant success with its release in men’s fragrance collection, Unforgivable. For this endeavor Combs worked meticulously with well-respected perfumer David Apel, and the collection was launched with Estee Lauder in 2006. The scent swiftly ascended to number one best-selling aroma in the US for 2006, outselling all women's perfumes. It was awarded Fragrance of the Year for Luxe Men’s fragrance at the FIFI (Fragrance Foundation) Awards in 2007. Unforgivable has also been a top-three hit in the U.K. and Australia, and over the next four months expanded into New Zealand, Central Europe, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Chile, Mexico, South Africa, the Middle East, Venezuela and Malaysia. In 2007 the company launched Unforgivable for women and in 2008 we have the release of another men’s fragrance I am King with additional seasonal releases while his latest release for women includes Empress.
