Shalimar Ode a la Vanille 2012 (Sur la route de Madagascar) has all of Shalimar EDP benefits and certainly no flaws. The citrus here is sweeter and more attractive, Shalimar Vanille 2012 is even more powerful. I found an absence of powerful smokey notes and considerably more gentle animalic notes compared to the classic edition of Shalimar. Consequently it is excellent for females like myself, who find Shalimar EDP occasionally slightly over the top with its smokiness and civet. Shalimar Vanille 2012 is fantastic and most suitable for me. It continues to be incredibly Shalimar, yet simply more leveled, softer and feminine for my tastes.
