Shalimar Parfum Initial L'Eau Si Sensuelle perfume for Women by Guerlain

Guerlain releases a limited version of Shalimar Parfum Initial L’Eau Si Sensuelle. A brand new bottle design with the same aroma, Guerlain states its tenderness and sensuality with the frosted finished bottle and the powdery pinkish feathers adorning it.

For nearly a century Shalimar has been a favorite for many, formulated in 1921 and re introduced in 1925 in a vial created by Raymond Guerlain and made by Cristalleries de Baccarat. It was presented at the Decorative Arts Exhibition as a remedy towards The Great Depression. According to Elisabeth Barille, “while examining a sample of vanillin, Jacques Guerlain suddenly poured the entire contents into a nearby bottle of Jicky, just to see what would happen.” The outcome was Shalimar. Jacques Guerlain was influenced by Mumtaz Mahal, the woman that the Taj Mahal was built for. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan’s love for Mumtaz Mahal, his most beloved wife was so powerful that he created for her the Garden of Shalimar in Lahore, Pakistan.

Over the years there have been several releases of Shalimar with the 2011 release Shalimar Parfum Initial having a totally different formulation, color and aroma to the classic Shalimar.

Shalimar Parfum Initial L’Eau Si Sensuelle’s finely frosted bottle demonstrates a specific gentleness that hides romantic and seductive aromas in a cloak of silk, promoting the oriental exquisiteness of the Temple of Love. Gentle and delicate, a feather in powdery pink hues, beautifully decorates the glass vial, presenting the renowned tassel that graced the bottles of previous releases. The carton is adorned with volutes and arabesques that bring to mind the amazing Shalimar Gardens and their stylish patios.

Shalimar Parfum Initial L’Eau faithful to its history sustains the tale of the eponymous aroma in its unique design, resembling a new ritual into sensuality and purity. For a limited edition, the glass vial is being decorated with an excellent style highlighting oriental sensuality. With each new design over the years, Guerlain is seeking to preserve and improve one of its most famous perfumes along with the beautiful story with the magnificence of an elegant and never-ending love.

Before evolving into a famous perfume, Shalimar was a wonderful garden that harbored the charming passion between the emperor Shah Jahan and the beautiful Mumtaz Mahal. Their love story influenced Jacques Guerlain in 1925. He interpreted the story into an amazing sensual olfactory creation empowered with the memorable aromas of flowers, wood, vanilla and amber. The earliest of the Orientals, Shalimar eternally continues to be the spirit of love and ritual into the delicateness of femininity.

Shalimar Parfum Initial L’Eau Si Sensuelle demonstrates a surprising formulation of citrus notes, with bergamot, which is a touch greener and zestier than the Eau De Parfum, along with a high quality grade of neroli essence. The erotic freshness of the opening notes mixes with a very specific quality of Jasmine, the cult flower in the soul of the famous Guerlinade. Thierry Wasser travelled the globe seeking the most stunning types of Grandiflora jasmine. Especially India where jasmine originates and where its harvesting is a ritual, along with Egypt and Grasse. Its selection is careful and without compromise, as demanded by the history of an excellent perfumer. From these locations a jasmine absolute has been produced with its intrinsic character: from green to fruity or more honeyed. In Thierry Wasser’s masterful hands, all their sides harmonize in a flawlessly dosed and desired jasmine delicacy that virtually keeps the exact same character in olfactory terms over the years. The new limited edition by Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial L’Eau Si Sensuelle will be available from March 2013 in versions of 60ml in Eau De Toilette concentration.
