Acqua di Parma Note di Colonia Perfume Collection 2016

The specialized Italian perfume brand Acqua di Parma is revealing Note di Colonia series of fragrances in September 2016. The trio of these opera-influenced perfumes celebrates the 100th anniversary of the brand's Colonia aroma.

Acqua di Parma has come to its first centenary 1916 - 2016. Its origins are inseparably attached to the city of Parma, where Colonia, the scent which designated its first presence, was made and where the brand has been sustaining the concepts of artwork, music and classiness from its beginning. To celebrate the Centenary and in respect to its city and its heritage, Acqua di Parma is developing Note di Colonia. A new range which pulls inspiration from the world of opera with three unique fragrances, each package encapsulated in a reinterpretation of Colonia's original bottle.

Note di Colonia I a thrilling crescendo showing gentle and exciting notes, giving a sensation of delight. Note di Colonia I is inspired by Libiamo ne lieti calico, from La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi. Its sparkling formulation emanates an essence that is joyful and rich with effervescence. Its strong typical cologne flows in a totally fashionable orchestration displayed by its aromatic notes. The aroma involves a burst of bergamot, in its glistening and most treasured Italian quality, together with the bright notes of neroli. The citrus beginning, typically cologne, sweetens and becomes delicate and embracing as it flows into the heart of the fragrance, which is remarkably aromatic. Here, the formulation mixes the freshness of lavender with the velvety warmth of Damascus rose and violet accord. In the abundant and deluxe closing there is a stylish blend of patchouli and cedarwood. Cherished essences give the aroma a satisfying depth and nobleness, turning it into entirely special.

Note di Colonia II is a solid entry with the confidence of victory in the spirit inspired by "Nessun dorma", Turandot. Note di Colonia II is praise to Puccini's art and to this true work of art. An aroma which knows the way to control the inner subtleties of an interlude that comes before the journey of the new day. The fragrance involves top notes of citrus opening with shining notes of bergamot, orange and grapefruit. The olfactory rhythm is significantly endured and strong with lively notes of basil and cardamom. The moment the coolness and the peacefulness of the night starts to disappear in the first break of warmth from the rising sun, the incredibly soft and fascinating tones of sandalwood show up blended with the smoky grey shades of guaiac, giving a relaxing experience of uniformity and detail to the heart of the formulation. Feelings are boosted in the velvet base by new undertones with the superb presence of musk and vetiver.

Note di Colonia III is a breathtaking musical symphony. The scent draws its inspiration from the "Marcia Trionfale" in Aida where Giuseppe Verdi sets his theatrical talents to the test. In this opera, above all other, the maestro makes a masterful and innovative use of the orchestra. It is the wind instruments which create that victorious atmosphere to give triumph and heroism. Note di Colonia III, with its exciting and winning notes, honor one of the most famed times of Italian opera. Starting notes include brilliant and radiant accords of mandarin and ginger perfecting immediately with its dynamism. The notes are boosted in the heart with splashes of vetiver which uncover a deep focusing contrast to its dry and woody features in the warm and resinous note of olibanum enhanced by jasmine. This powerful and melodious orchestration develops majestically. In its ending part, the perfume conveys a notion of perpetuity, with the stylish notes of Tonka bean joining the intense and full-bodied ones of cistus labdanum and myrrh.
