A touch of Parisian Style Iris Torrefie
The iris is almost everywhere in Guerlain creations from L'Heure Bleue to L'Initial, from Apres L'Ondee to Insolence, via Shalimar. No matter if it has reserved its place as a proven star or it takes on supporting tasks, it’s certainly more essential than it appears to be.
The L'art & La Matiere Collection had previously placed it in the spotlight in gourmand appearance with Iris Ganache, signed by Thierry Wasser in 2007, then discontinued in 2012, before coming back for a limited edition last year.
The rhizome is returning to the collection, with a unique creation empowered by Parisian cafes and "the French art of living conducive to strolling and suspended time". Iris Torrefie recreates "the meeting between the cosmetic smell of a lipstick and that of a still steaming cup of coffee".
Iris Torrefie The Good Things In Life
Delphine Jelk alongside in House perfumer Thierry Wasser, has optioned to encompass the butter with iris pallida, introduced as an outstanding quality of the ingredient, cardamom, bergamot, intense and full-bodied coffee, of ambrette seed, vanilla tincture and "opopanine", a balsamic note that the designer refers to as "Shalimar amber" .
An authentic and refined Iris, at first the iris blossoms instantaneously gives a cosmetic, creamy and powdery sensation. Then it swiftly unveils facets of cocoa. Dark and slightly bitter, it reminds you of coffee, like roasted coffee beans. The roasted element with subtleties of almond or even sesame and leathery texture, expose a relaxed and calm Guerlinade.
