Developed sustainably and collected by hand following a time-honored ritual, the oud chosen by Guerlain Perfumers is acquired from the forests of Bangladesh on the border with Assam. Its essence exudes exquisitely woody scents with leathery, discreetly animalic tones.

L’Art & La Matiere Oud Nude

L’Art & La Matiere Oud Nude is a luminous, voluptuous interpretation of oud wood. A sensual oud as alluring as bare skin, with Oud Nude, oud wood reveals its most luminous facets.

Renowned for its darkness and sophistication, oud wood now lays itself bare upon contact with white almond. At the heart, a beguiling raspberry accord heightens the blond wood tones of sumptuous Atlas cedar.

The bark of this incredibly tender, naked wood is sensually caressed by a voluptuous rose. Oud is illuminated and unveiled through the gentle touch of creamy sandalwood, then exalted by Madagascan vanilla tincture.

Laid bare, oud reveals its softness. In opposition to its usual intense darkness, Delphine Jelk celebrates the brightness of oud with great finesse. Unveiled in a new light, the material softens upon contact with bright woody notes to express its most delicately sensual facets.

L’Art & La Matiere Cherry Oud

L’Art & La Matiere Cherry Oud is a floral, fruity interpretation of oud wood. Oud lacquered with a scarlet-red cherry note, with Cherry Oud, oud wood is dyed with a cherry note.

Unveiling its most ravishing, crimson facets, black oud wood is lacquered with a red cherry note. Between red and black, a potent new olfactory hue is exalted through a duo of roses at the fragrance’s heart, composed of honey-toned Turkish rose absolute and Bulgarian rose essence.

L’Art & La Matiere Oud Khol

L’Art & La Matiere Oud Khol is a pitch-dark, leather-toned interpretation of oud wood. Blacker than black, intense and mysterious oud, with Oud Khôl, oud wood unveils its darkest facets. An olfactory celebration of the colour black, Oud Khôl reveals the most beautiful facets of dark oud. Akin to how a kohl pencil lends purity and intensity to the eye, Guerlain Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser has used oud to attain a hue of absolute black.

Magnified by aldehyde enhancers, Oud Khôl stuns with its leathery, charcoal-tinged accord that seems to darken the woody resin even further. A moss accord with glints of carbon and a deliciously unexpected note of caramelized praline add richness to the palette. Here, hypnotic black knows how to tempt desire.
