Guerlain Shalimar Millesime Vanilla Planifolia

Shalimar Millesime Vanilla Planifolia, the essence of Shalimar's ground-breaking sillage, vanilla has now inspired an outstanding Millesime edition. Guerlain’s adoring gratitude to one of the most renowned and luxurious essences in its palette. Overdosed in the composition, Guerlain’s signature vanilla tincture unveils all its facets and boosts the sillage of the iconic oriental fragrance.

Exceptionally Unique Shalimar Vanilla Planifolia

Oriental, sensual, delicious, overdosed. A homage to vanilla. An essential raw ingredient in the famous Guerlinade and the primary note in Shalimar’s celebrated fragrance trail, vanilla is a Guerlain beloved.

In this limited edition, Madagascan Vanilla Planifolia is superbly boosted by the perfumers in unrivalled techniques. The vanilla tincture emanates a woody, somewhat leathery and spicy note. This ancestral skill set distinctive to Guerlain makes it achievable to extract vanilla’s fragrance molecules by macerating it in alcohol from organic farming.

The vanilla extract emanates a sensual, gourmand note. This technique makes it achievable to extract the fragrance molecules by macerating and percolating the pods sourced from Madagascar.

Shalimar Vanilla Planifolia Lasting Quality

Guerlain is one of the small number of Perfume Houses to produce its own vanilla tincture. This time-honored process is passed on to perfumers from generation to generation.

Exclusively made in Guerlain’s factories, the vanilla tincture is created from pods from organic farming of excellent quality. Sourced from Madagascar, they are obtained fresh at the Orphin plant and then cut into bits by hand using a cutter - a tool that Jacques Guerlain was already using when Shalimar was created. As a final point, they are left to macerate in wheat alcohol from organic farming for several months. This process allows them to acquire the unique richness of their aromas.

Part homage, part innovation, Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia adopts the graphic codes of the bottle on a pedestal created by Raymond Guerlain in 1925. The famous “bat” label is combined with typography in Art Deco-inspired geometric lines. A leather tie encircles the neck: an evocation of the fragrance notes of the Vanilla Planifolia tincture that sets apart this unique composition.
