With Rivieres de Cartier, a selection of eaux fraiches, she conveys the life and raw splendor of water, a source of olfactory expression. When we speak about water in perfumery, we don’t discuss its molecular proportions nor its capability for creativity but alternatively the manner in which it can boost a fragrance. And the water itself, what does it bring to it? What can we discover from it? Mathilde Laurent knows that water was humankind’s first mirror, a mirror that purifies and lead s us towards self-awareness and life and which is often recognized to flow like a river.

For her, river water is an aroma. It bears with it the essence of each and every element that it runs into: organic or mineral, leaves, flowers, roots, fruits, rocks. Each fragrant molecule fuses with H2O, leaving behind a colorful olfactory cocktail.
