A unique, limited edition partnership between D.S. & Durga and fashion icon Armando Cabral. Mahogany Kora draws from Cabral's passion for the rich history of West Africa to to create a scent redolent of the riches of the trans-Saharan trade routes once plied by the historic Mali Empire.
Taking its name from the kora, an instrument used by the Mandinka tribe to recount their history through song, they envisioned a scent that uses the fragrant depth of West Africa's unique calabash nutmeg and the rich power of mahogany wood to smell as symbolically powerful as the kora's tone sounds. An olfactive tribute to ancestry, legacy, and tradition.
The opening is appropriately striking- a freshly spicy, yet imposing collection of ambered woods, with the calabash nutmeg and sweet hibiscus lending a vitality and tempo to the full-bodied depth of mahogany.
