Christian Dior Designer History:
Born in 1905 in Normandy France, style and Fashion designer Christian Dior first undertook studies in political science and after serving in the armed forces, he went back to Paris in 1935 and started his design and style career by selling drawings of hat and clothing designs. In the beginning, the hats had been considerably more profitable compared to the dresses. Nevertheless, he inevitably focused on his clothing styles and was employed by Robert Piquet in 1938. Throughout the war, he was positioned in the South of France, then went back to Paris in 1941 and labored for Lucien Lelong, a significantly bigger and more established design house. In 1946, Christian Dior was ready to start his private design house, supported by fabric supplier Marcel Boussac. His luxurious designs built his fame in the after-war era, and his company rapidly broadened into furs, fragrances and accessories. In 1953, Christian Dior employed Yves Saint Laurent as an associate. Following Dior's unexpected passing away in October 1957 in Italy, Saint Laurent was repositioned to chief designer and launched the trapeze dress in his starting collection for the house. From the time of Saint Laurent, various widely recognized designers have worked at this fashion house including Gianfranco Ferre, Marc Bohan and John Galliano.
Currently, the holding company's functioning division, Christian Dior Couture, designs and creates a few of the globe's most desirable haute couture, in addition to high-class ready-to-wear fashion and accessories for men and women. Supplemental to clothing, fragrance and accessories, they included skincare to its variety in the middle of 2006. Christian Dior holds 42% managing shares in luxury product giant LVMH.
