Giorgio Armani Designer History:
Fashion style icon Giorgio Armani was born in Piacenza near Milan from simple and modest origins on July 11 in 1934.Today he is considered by many as the most well-known and richest style brand of our times. At first he undertook studies in medicine; however he quit and carried on with photography. When finishing his national service, he went to work as a store front window display stylist in La Rinascente, the famous department store, Italy's first ready-to-wear shop. For nearly a decade from 1961 to 1970, Armani worked as a designer for famous fashion house Nino Cerruti. Places at Ungaro and Zegna happened to shortly follow. He finally left to carry on as self-employed and in 1974, joined together with Sergio Galeott and set up Giorgio Armani S.p.A. An early men's collection was shortly after succeeded by women's wear in 1975, during that period his sister, Rosanna Armani, completed the giant style power group. In early 2007, Armani reported that he was ready to offer for sale his renowned homonymous brand names.
