Guy Laroche Designer History:
Born in La Rochelle, France in 1921 Guy Laroche grew to become a famous Fashion style Designer and fragrance creator. Completing his studies at school, he set out on a self-educated profession of Parisian fashion, which he followed in an untroubled get away character in his very own unique talented style. At the young age of fifteen, he sold drawings of designs to Yves Saint Laurent and at the age of seventeen, Dorothee Bis took him in as an associate.

Laroche labored for Jean Desses in 1949 and subsequently evolved into his assistant. With his never ending passion for learning he travelled to the United States in 1955 to master the technique of ready-to-wear production and a year after, went back to France and started out his private fashion house. He created haute-couture in useful and realistic apparel for women. Not to mention that for the American fashion industry he was one of the first designers to create separates.

On February 17th 1989 Guy Laroche passed away. His legacy continues with renowned creative designers that have guaranteed the continuity of the design and image of his name, among them Michel Klein, Angelo Tarlazzi and Alber Elbaz. These days, the various product collections are developed by a studio formed by a team of young and talented designers.

Presently, his work is separated among his two functions: the ready-to-wear with his private label and the haute couture for Guy Laroche among them his fragrance collection of perfumes and colognes.
