Marc Jacobs Designer History:
Marc Jacobs was born in New York City on April 9, 1963. Following his graduation from the High School of Art and Design in 1981 he went to Parson's School of Design. While at Parson’s college as a design student, Jacobs was the receiver of several of the schools top awards. In 1984 Marc was given the Chester Weinberg Gold Thimble Award, the Perry Ellis Gold Thimble Award, and the Design Student of the Year Award. At the time of his education at Parson's Jacobs simultaneously created and marketed his first series of hand-knitted garments. The selection was developed for Ruben Thomas, Inc. that continues to operate these days.

Supported by Kashiyama USA, Inc. in 1986 Jacobs created his first range having the Marc Jacobs brand. The next year, Jacobs attained the distinct recognition of becoming the youngest designer ever to be honored the fashion industry's highest accolades: The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent. In 1989 Jacobs and Duffy signed up with Perry Ellis. Duffy was positioned as President and Jacobs was positioned Vice-President of Women's Design.

In the duration of his career at Perry Ellis, Jacobs supervised the development of various women's licensees as well as developing the designer series. In 1992, the CFDA one more time presented Jacobs with a distinct prize: the Women's Designer of the Year Award. In the fall of 1993, Jacobs Duffy Designs Inc. introduced their own licensing and design company, Marc Jacobs International Company, LP.

Marc Jacobs Fragrance History:
His homonymous fragrance Marc Jacobs perfume for women was first introduced in spring 2001 with the men counterpart to follow a year later. In 2006, Jacobs launched a new collection of body-splash scents in economical large 300ml/10-ounce bottles that were distributed by Coty. Initially exclusively being offered in perfume boutiques, they have grown to be increasingly popular with several new collection releases emerging over the years with the most recent of Splash Hibiscus, Splash Kumquat and Splash rain for the 2012 splash collection. A recent award winner fragrance for women is Marc Jacobs Dot 2012 receiving multiple FiFi awards not to mention his marvelous Daisy collection and his latest release is Marc Jacobs Honey all in exquisitely unique flower designed bottles.
