Confidential True Oud Carolina Herrera New Fragrance

True Oud is the newest fragrance to the Eastern Treasures range, a new presentation of a classic aroma originated in Middle Eastern customs.

This new unisex perfume discovers the less recognized aspects of oud, its floral qualities, incorporating sustainably grown Oud with ten other eco-friendly produced accords to reproduce the identical nuances as Oud utilized in the air as incense.

This latest member to the Eastern Treasures collection was empowered by Carolina A. Herrera's journeys to the Middle East and the Arab perfumery traditions passed on by her mother. Perfumer Jordi Fernandez researched the least known features of the ingredient, its floral aspects, which he blended with a woody cocktail of base notes that, when bottled, recreate the same intricacies as Oud used in the air like incense.

"We needed to achieve that aroma because it’s what really defines experiences among family and friends and what creates those moments at home. And because it’s a much more intense aroma than an essential oil," the perfumer explains, "we needed to work with Oud that can be produced sustainably so that it doesn’t lose its strength and purity over time."

The familiar Herrera Confidential faceted bottle is coated in green-to-gold, influenced by the tree that creates the treasured essential oil at the heart of this aroma, often compared to liquid gold.
