Guerlain Le Flacon aux Abeilles Le Jardin de la Reine

Guerlain introduces a special Exceptional Piece in an exclusive artist's edition, envisioned as the greatest celebration of the House's symbol, the bee, which has always been a base of creativity and responsibility a work of art totally created by bees. In collaboration with the Slovak artist Tomas Libertiny, the House is presenting an unrivaled creation: the iconic Flacon aux Abeilles is taken into a graceful and timeless universe. An exclusive masterpiece that celebrates the bee.

Tomas Libertiny: dedicated artist & avant-garde

Tomas Libertiny's captivation for the splendor and intelligence of nature feeds his creation and his work question the connections between nature and man. Consequently, it is by noticing the work of bees that he understands their artistic prospective and starts off a collaboration with these sentinels of the ecosystem: "The first time that I saw the result of their work, that they finished one of my sculptures, it was a suspended moment, I was unable to express what I felt”.

The concept of sustainable creativity

Reinforced by their mutual commitments, it is only natural that Tomas Libertiny and the Guerlain house have envisioned an Exceptional Piece denoting the preservation of biodiversity and the bee and refining the resilience and inspiring force of nature. The work enhances the building power of bees.

"The historic link that Guerlain still maintains with bees moves me. Let them choose them as an emblem, such an ephemeral living being for a House with such a history. This requires a form of audacity. We immediately understood each other" - Tomáš Libertíny.

"It's a timeless masterpiece. The idea was to place Le Flacon aux Abeilles in a hive and let nature and the bees do their work." - Tomas Libertiny

When the bee bottle turns into a hive

It is with boldness that Tomas Libertiny envisioned for Guerlain, a bottle where the bee is an artist. The artist allows full freedom to the bees for the work and the time of the creation, giving way to an extravagant work. A bottle covered in a wax adornment with a honeycomb pattern similar to that of a beehive. Carrying a committed message, this work of art, unique in the world, raises nature into art with the bee as its sentinel.

"It took about a month for the bees to dress Le Flacon aux Abeilles. To obtain this result, it was necessary to be patient, and to be respectful of the work of the bees. It was fascinating to observe because at first, the pure wax is white. It is the rhythm of life of the bees, the pollen and the honey which add these amber tones to it" - Tomas Libertiny

The queen's garden

Guerlain Perfumers have envisioned an exceptional fragrance to come with the bottle: Le Jardin de la Reine. Composed of 90% ingredients of natural origin, the eau de parfum brings to mind a flowery paradise where bees come in search for food. The floral accord of Bulgarian rose and ylang-ylang unveils at its heart solar white flowers such as tuberose, sambac jasmine and grasse jasmine grandilorum. The woody and delicate base is settled by white musks and moss. An ode to beauty and naturalness

The bee, a Guerlain symbol

Since it arrived on the iconic Flacon aux Abeilles in 1853, the bee has always been a source of inspiration for the houses creations and artistic collaborations. Sentinel of the environment, now severely endangered, it has become - beyond a symbol - a guide for the house's sustainable commitment. Guerlain has been working to protect this precious pollinator for more than 10 years and has devoted a number of significant partnerships and projects to it within the "Guerlain for Bees Conservation Programme".
