Guerlain Shalimar Ode A La Vanille 2013

The latest tribute to the fascinating vanilla Shalimar with a third Ode à la Vanille together with Mexican vanilla, in May 2013 Guerlain introduces a third variant of the excellent Shalimar Ode à La Vanille 2013, this time utilizing another variant of vanilla, a Mexican vanilla extract. As described by Guerlain, this vanilla has notes of prune, caramel and chocolate, and is fruitier than last year’s woody Madagascan version Shalimar Ode à La Vanille 2012.

Guerlain's in house master perfumer Thierry Wasser, set out as a modern day explorer in search of the most beautiful fragrance, this time traveled deep into Mexico to bring to life his exciting new vision. As noted and always faithful to his passion he once mentioned "There is no doubt that Venus would be vanilla."

Travelling the globe for this third sequel, the perfumer went for the rarest of the vanilla variety, coming from Mexico. Specifically in search of the plant Vanilla planifolia, discovered by the Aztecs more than 1000 years ago, this rare and mystical vanilla is one of the most exquisite, highly praised, delicate and sophisticated varieties in the world. The outcome of his expedition is a gentle fruity aroma, with delicious notes of caramel and chocolate, that envelope the skin in a luminous veil.

The new limited edition to the spectacular Guerlain Fragrance Collection, Shalimar Ode A La Vanille 2013 - Sur La Route Du Mexique is available in 50ml versions of Eau De Parfum formulation with an expected retail price of 90Eur.
