Essential Luxuries Granada perfume for Women by Oscar De La Renta

Focusing on Beauty is Oscar De La Renta's passion at the moment. After revealing other limited edition beauty products the past month, it's time to unveil a new prestigious collection of six fragrances, Oscar De La Renta Essential Luxuries fragrance collection.

According to Eliza Bolen, de la Renta's daughter and executive vice president of the brand, "We had lunch, and Oscar said, 'I want fragrances for my memories,'". This was the starting point for the Essential Luxuries fragrances, inspired by the designer's life and loves and developed in collaboration with master perfumer Calice Becker of Givaudan.

Alexander Bolen, chief executive of the brand noted: "Our intention with this is to continue the rehabilitation and elevation of our beauty brand, which had lost its way a little bit over the last decade or so. It's a very personal collection that tells the consumer not only are we a prestigious fragrance house, but what that means. Who better to tell that story than Oscar?"

Oscar De La Renta Essential Luxuries Grenada focuses on jasmine, orange trees and roses that grow at the Alhambra palace in Spain, a place which is also the source of the symbol that appears on the front of each fragrance bottle. After a memorable trip to the homonymous city in Spain and the lush gardens of jasmine, roses and orange trees found there, this would lead to another inspiration for De La Renta. The perfume has notes of jasmine, rose and orange blossom, bergamot, bitter orange, reflecting the lushness of the gardens of the city.

Oscar's concept of today's woman is that she isn't devoted to one fragrance and is more likely to adopt a fragrance wardrobe, reflecting her emotional mood and needs of the moment; "a world wide open to women, with a lot of choices." The scents themselves are meant to evoke a wealth of personal preferences for Mr. De la Renta and inspire special memories with which he hopes women will attach themselves too.

Oscar De La Renta Essential Luxuries collection is expected to be available on the 6th of September exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue New York and Oscar de la Renta boutiques, (saks.com, oscardelarenta.com). The fragrances will be available in bottles of 100ml with a price of 150USD each.
